In a strong message through its social media director, the World Health Organization (WHO) has stressed the urgent need for medical evacuations in Gaza, where seriously ill patients urgently require life-saving treatments.
Despite repeated calls to action, the pace of evacuations remains alarmingly slow. Since October 2023, only 5,383 patients have been successfully evacuated with WHO support.
However, the situation has worsened significantly since the closure of the Rafah crossing, with only 436 patients evacuated since then.
This closure has drastically reduced the number of people who can receive much-needed medical care.

The organization emphasizes that every day that goes by without action puts at risk the lives of thousands of people who depend on urgent evacuation to receive essential medical care.
The situation in Gaza calls for a coordinated and effective response to ensure that all patients have access to the care they need without further delay.
